Playing Phoenix and DAoC on a Mac

Hi everyone!
To make story short, my beloved and cheap Dell Inspiron died after several years of good service. Since I paid it roughly 600€ around 6 years ago, and Dell asks me for around 200€ to repair it, I guess its time to find a new one. The organization which I work for can only provide me a Mac. Before the Dell, I had the 2013 MacBook Pro Retina which I sold cause it was a pain for my needings, which are very basics: browser, office suite, SPSS and, of course, DAoC. Simply, even when running only Excel worksheets the thing was more an heather or an airplane than a laptop, so I can't say my Mac experience was any good.
Now, it looks like that getting a Mac (either the 13 MBP with higher specs or the basic 16 MBP) through my organization would be even cheaper than a lower end windows laptop, which I should still get if DAoC could not run smoothly on it. I know you can manage to get windows on Macs using Bootcamp or Parallels, still I've no idea about if that could work and if those can do what I need. I never used either Bootcamp or Paralles. If office and SPSS can seriously work fine on that, it would be ok for my job at least, but what about us?

So, does anyone has experience with that? Any hint about what I should look for and how that might work?

Thanks everyone,
Xad

P.S. I made a search on the forum trying to find some older thread, but couldn't find any. Sorry if the thing has been ask already and I couldn't find it.

Boot camp is part of Mac OS
Simply install windows on and boot up the OS you want

I played daoc on MacBook Pro and iMac
No issues

I haven't used it on a mac, but daoc ran great on my freebsd box using wine.
In many ways it was much faster than windows at the time, on both live and uthgard.
Haven't tried it in some time but I might do so again soon.

It's listed as platinum so it should still be pretty stable.

You can use WINE but then you can't upgrade to Catalina (Have to stay on Mojave)
Install brew and do brew install wine and you can play DAOC right inside Mac OS X (No bootcamp needed)

I think someone was working on fixing WINE so it worked in Catalina. Apple, for some reason, decided they'd remove all the 32-bit libraries that made WINE work in Catalina.

Yeah WINE 1.82 and higher will run DAOC with no issues.
Works good on both FreeBSD and Linux (I've played on both)
